日本の職人とともに、スカジャンの歴史と技術を受け継ぎながら、新しい一着を制作しています。横振り刺繍、ヴィンテージの研究、日本各地の素材や技術を通して、スカジャンという文化を未来へつなぎます。
Together with Japanese artisans, we create new sukajan while carrying forward the history and craftsmanship behind them. Through Yokofuri embroidery, the study of vintage pieces, and materials and techniques from across Japan, we aim to carry the culture of sukajan into the future.

SUKAJAN FACTORYは、スカジャンを単なるファッション、衣服ではなく、日本に古くから根付く染織の伝統、戦争という非日常、そしてアメリカ文化の交差から生まれた「記憶を宿すスーベニア」と捉えています。
過去をそのまま再現するのではなく、その誕生の背景にある文化や精神を日本人として理解し、次の時代へ伝え、残していくこと。それがSUKAJAN FACTORYの使命です。
SUKAJAN FACTORY sees the sukajan not simply as fashion or clothing, but as a “souvenir imbued with memory,” born at the intersection of Japan’s long-established textile traditions, the extraordinary circumstances of war, and American culture.
Our mission is not to simply reproduce the past, but to understand, from a Japanese perspective, the culture and spirit behind the birth of the sukajan, and to carry that heritage forward for future generations.

SHIDA — FUTURE VINTAGE
Artisan Collaboration / Experimental Craft Project
スカジャンに用いられる絵柄のルーツの一部は、江戸時代の日本美術にまで遡ることができます。志田焼の絵付け、天然藍染のシルク、手編みのリブなど、日本の伝統的な手仕事を一着に結びつけたプロジェクト。
Some of the visual motifs found in sukajan can be traced back to Japanese art of the Edo period.The roots of sukajan imagery can be traced back to the Edo period. This project brings together traditional Japanese craftsmanship—including hand-painted Shida ware, naturally indigo-dyed silk, and hand-knitted ribbing—into a single jacket.
Designed as a “future vintage” piece, it is intended to reach its true completion 100 years from now.

We collect and study vintage sukajan, souvenir items, and vintage sewing machines with historical and archival significance, and are currently working on a book that examines sukajan from a historical perspective.
We also welcome inquiries regarding information and archival materials related to sukajan, as well as offers to sell vintage pieces or materials.
